A flag-raising ceremony was held at the Pakistan Embassy in Madrid and the Consulate General in Barcelona on Independence Day, to which a small number of Pakistanis were invited, keeping in view the SOPs due to the coronavirus.
Ambassador of Pakistan Khayyam Akbar hoisted the Pakistani flag to the echo of the national anthem while Muhammad Yousuf, Mission Officer at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Barcelona hoisted the flag.
On the occasion, the Ambassador of Pakistan read out a message sent by the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Umair Ali (First Secretary) to the President of Pakistan on the occasion of Independence Day, while Head of Chancellery Danish Mahmood delivered the welcome address.
Both ceremonies at the embassy and consulate began with a recitation from the Bible.
In his address, the Ambassador of Pakistan called for an end to the atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and called on the United Nations and the major powers of the world to compel India to give Kashmiris their right to self-determination, along with cultural and diplomatic Disconnect.
He said that freedom is the basic right of every human being but Indian forces have been inflicting mountains of oppression and barbarism on Kashmiris for decades, hands are being stained with the blood of innocents, honors are being trampled and innocent youth are being bound. Being chained
The Ambassador of Pakistan said that the day is not far when the residents of Occupied Kashmir will also celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day with Pakistanis and that day will be Independence Day. The biggest proof of which is the new map presented by the government of Pakistan.
He said that there was no precedent for the Pakistani community in Spain to fight the code 19 and help each other in the lockdown. A minute’s silence was observed at the Pakistan Embassy in Madrid for those killed in the Coronavirus and today’s fire in Barcelona, and prayers were offered for the bereaved families.
