Pope Francis Expresses Grief Over the Conversion of Aya Sofia Into a Mosque From a Museum

Vatican City: Pope Francis, the spiritual leader of the Christian religion, has said that Turkey’s Aya Sophia is deeply saddened by the decision to rebuild the mosque from the museum.

“My thoughts are reaching Istanbul,” he said during his weekly worship service in St. Petersburg. I’ve thought about Santa Sophia and I’m in a lot of pain.
