Nepal’s parliament has approved a new map of the country, which also includes areas in Nepal where Nepal has a dispute with India.
After the passage of the amendment bill by a two-thirds majority, the people in Kathmandu lit candles with joy while India rejected the new map.
Earlier, India had inaugurated a new road connecting Uttarakhand with Lipulekh.
The 80 km long road also passes through the areas claimed by Nepal.
Former Prime Minister of Nepal Prachanda says Nepal does not want to complicate matters and wants a peaceful settlement.
